Hello parents, I hope you enjoyed your weekend. This past week we have been working on preparing for the milestones. I am so proud of all of their hard work throughout this year. I know they will do great! We will be starting to work on unit 7 this week. Please note there will be no homework given to students due to testing. I have attached the unit 7 parent letter below.
This week we will be working on sorting and classifying shapes based on their attributes. We will also study the different types of triangles and discuss lines of symmetry. Students will have a quiz at the end of the week.
Hi Parents,
This week we will be learning about the different types of angles, shape attributes and classifying triangles. Students will also be working on their "Geometry Town" project! They will be working on this in class for the next couple of weeks and it will be a graded project. Hi Parents, We are starting a new unit this week on geometry. I am attaching the parent letter so you have a better idea of exactly what we will be covering in this unit. Thanks!
Hello parents,
This week students will continue with working on decimals and fractions. They will have a short quiz on Friday on equivalent decimal fractions, adding decimal fractions, placing them on line plots, and comparing decimal fractions. We will also begin ordering decimal fractions. This is a shorter unit therefore, students will have their test at the end of next week. Hello parents, I hope you all had a good weekend! We have started our new unit in math today. In this unit we will be working with fractions and decimals. This week we will focus on expressing a fraction with a denominator 10 as an equivalent fraction with a denominator of 100. Students will also be introduced to the decimal place value (tenths and hundredths). Please see the unit 5 parent letter attached below for more information. Thanks, have a great week!

I hope you all had a wonderful winter break and were able to spend time with family and get some well needed rest! This week we will begin grade 4 unit 4 titled Operations with Fractions In this unit, students will be learning to add and subtract fractions, decompose a fraction into a sum of fractions with the same denominator, add and subtract mixed numbers with like denominators, solve word problems involving adding and subtracting fractions, and multiply a fraction by a whole number. Attached here please find the link for the family newsletter to introduce Grade 4 Unit 4.
Hello parents,
This week we will continue practicing finding equivalent fractions and comparing fractions. We will also start adding and subtracting fractions with a common denominator. Please continue working on multiplication facts at home. It is important that they know them fluently to help them find the LCM (least common multiple). We will be finishing unit 3 and having our test at the end of next week. |
