Hello parents,
I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend! Last week we began unit 5 on fractions. Students have learned that a fraction is made of a numerator and a denominator and that each unit fraction is an equal part of a whole. Students have learned to partition shapes into equal parts and label them with the correct fractions. Our focus was on fractions with circles, squares, and rectangles. This week we will review how to partition a whole into equal parts and how to label each unit fraction with a numerator and denominator. We will begin looking at fractions using cubes and tiles as visuals rather than shapes such as squares and circles. Students homework for this short week is to work on iReady math for 30 minutes. Early next week we will have a quiz on the the content covered so far. Students should be bringing home their math notebooks to help prepare.

Hello parents! This week we will be reviewing unit 4. Students will take their test Thursday and Friday. This weeks homework is a review packet to help prepare them for their test. Sign and returns will be going home with students on Thursday. I have attached the unit 4 parent letter as an aid to help prepare with your child for the upcoming test. Thank you, have a great week!
